The incident, which occurred earlier in the day, has left families and children traumatized and a community in mourning.
The Governor and First Partner extended their deepest condolences to those affected by the shooting. They emphasized that worshippers should not have to fear for their safety while practicing their faith. "Hate has no place in California," they stated firmly, "and we will not tolerate acts of terror or intimidation against communities of faith."
The couple also thanked law enforcement officers and first responders for their swift action in protecting the children and worshippers during the attack. They assured the San Diego Muslim community that California stands with them during this difficult time.
