BREAKTHRU BEVERAGE WORKERS JOIN TEAMSTERS

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 16, 2025 ~ In a historic move, the drivers at Breakthru Beverage in St. Louis, Missouri have voted to unionize with Teamsters Local 600. The decision was made by an overwhelming majority of the 41 workers, who are seeking improved pay, better benefits, and safer working conditions.

According to John Kelting, President of Local 600, Breakthru has been taking advantage of these drivers for far too long. He stated that it is now time for the new Teamsters to receive the wages, benefits, and working conditions that they rightfully deserve.

Jeff Padellaro, Director of the Brewery, Bakery, and Soft Drink Conference also expressed his support for the drivers. He acknowledged their hard work and emphasized that they deserve a contract that recognizes their worth. Padellaro stated that the Teamsters are ready to stand alongside them as they fight for a fair first contract.

Breakthru Beverage is one of the largest beverage wholesalers in North America with operations in 15 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada. The Teamsters already represent hundreds of workers at various Breakthru locations throughout the country.

Ray Molett, a new member of Local 600 and a six-year driver at Breakthru Beverage shared his thoughts on joining the Teamsters. He stated that being part of this union gives them a voice to voice their concerns and hold the company accountable. Molett added that they now have a seat at the negotiating table and are ready to fight for a strong Teamsters contract that includes better pay and respect.
