Boston: March 19, 2026 Traffic Advisory
EntSun News/11087361
~ Boston, MA - On Saturday, March 28, 2026, Boston Common will be the site of a No Kings Rally, joining millions of others across the United States. In preparation for the event, the city is taking measures to manage traffic and ensure public safety.
To accommodate the expected crowds, temporary parking restrictions will be in effect on Charles Street and both sides of Beacon Street. This will allow for a designated drop-off and pick-up zone as well as a staging area for buses to keep them out of general traffic. The rally is scheduled to take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The following streets will have parking restrictions in place throughout Saturday:
- Beacon Street: Both sides from Arlington Street to Joy Street
- Charles Street: Both sides from Boylston Street to Beacon Street
In Dorchester, the Boston Transportation Department will also be implementing parking restrictions on King Street on Friday, March 20, 2026. This is in relation to Eid prayer services at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center located at 100 Malcolm X Boulevard. The restrictions are necessary to allow for drop-off and pick-up areas.

Parking restrictions will be in effect throughout Friday on King Street from Roxbury Street to Malcolm X Boulevard.
In Roslindale, drivers should take note that the Canterbury Street Bridge will be closed starting Friday, September 12 at 9:00 p.m. due to findings from a recent bridge inspection. Pedestrian access will still be available but vehicular traffic will not be allowed until further notice.
To navigate around the closure, drivers should follow detour signage in place. The primary detour route includes Hyde Park Avenue, Cummins Highway, Rowe Street, Brown Avenue, and Seymour Street. Eastbound traffic should follow Seymour Street to Brown Avenue to Cummins Highway while westbound traffic should use Hyde Park Avenue to Cummins Highway to Rowe Street to Seymour Street.
Drivers should anticipate delays, reduce speed, and use caution when traveling through the affected areas. The closure is necessary for the safety of all commuters and the city advises people to consider alternative modes of transportation such as walking, biking, or taking public transit. Information on Bluebikes, the regional bike share service, can be found on their website while information on the MBTA can be found online. The MBTA also advises riders to purchase round-trip tickets for a faster return trip.
In conclusion, Boston is taking necessary precautions to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during these upcoming events. People are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternative modes of transportation to avoid any inconvenience.
