Bloomington: Nominations Open for 2026 Community Impact Award Recognizing Civic Contribution

~ The Bloomington/Monroe County Human Rights Commission (BMCHRC) is currently seeking nominations for the 2026 Human Rights Award, which recognizes individuals or organizations for their contributions to improving civil rights in the community. This prestigious award has been honoring recipients since its establishment in 1997.

Nominations can be submitted at bton.in/HRA and must be received by May 1, 2026, at 5 p.m. The Commission is accepting nominations for both individuals and organizations based in Bloomington or unincorporated areas of Monroe County.

As the enforcer of the local Human Rights Ordinance, the Bloomington/Monroe County Human Rights Commission also provides education to ensure that residents are aware of their rights and responsibilities under the law.
