Battery Council International Announces Stryten's Mike Judd as New Chair

WASHINGTON, April 28, 2025 ~ In a recent press release, Battery Council International (BCI) announced new executive leadership appointments within the organization. Mike Judd, Chief Executive Officer and President of Stryten Energy, has been named the new Chairman of BCI's Board of Directors.

Along with Judd's appointment, BCI also announced several other officers who will serve on the board. Shawn O'Connell, President and Chief Executive Officer of Enersys, will serve as Vice Chairman. Rick Heller, President and Chief Executive Officer at C&D Technologies, Inc./Trojan Battery, has been appointed as Treasurer. Bill Moll, President GS Yuasa Energy Solutions, Inc., will serve as Secretary.

According to BCI's President and Executive Director Roger Miksad, these appointments come at a crucial time for the battery industry. "The battery industry is undergoing a dramatic transformation thanks to new technologies, new trade dynamics, and continued growth in demand for energy storage," said Miksad. "We are honored to have Stryten's Mike Judd as our newest Chairman of the Board and look forward to his leadership to ensure BCI remains a driving force for innovation and excellence within the battery industry for many years to come."

The newly appointed board members will be officially sworn in at BCI's annual convention on May 4 in San Antonio. In addition to the executive leadership appointments, several other individuals have been elected to serve on the BCI Board for two-year terms. These include Thomas Bawart from Banner GmbH, Julie McClure from MAC Engineering and Equipment Co., Inc., Sergio Moura from Acumuladores Moura SA, Chris Pruitt from East Penn Manufacturing Co., Inc., Christian Rosenkranz from Clarios, Chad Schuchmann from Daramic LLC, and Nick Starita from Hollingsworth & Vose Company.
