FORT MYERS, Fla. - EntSun -- AT&T and Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County collaborated on a unique initiative that outfitted 150 local children and teens with new laptops as they prepare to start the 2026-27 school year.
On July 28, representatives from the Dallas-based telecommunications company distributed laptops at the nonprofit's Back-to-School Laptop Giveaway powered by AT&T.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County selected 150 local club members with financial need who exemplify values like academic excellence, consistent attendance, positive behavior, leadership potential and community service.
"We are absolutely thrilled to have collaborated with AT&T to make sure that our kids are ready to go back to school," said Denise Gergley, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County. "As our kids were notified that they were selected to be part of this laptop giveaway, it was nothing but smiles and joy. That's the way it should be. We want them to be excited to go back to school. For many of them, that laptop is a big investment for families. To be given that as a gift is such an amazing gesture, and our kids are eternally grateful."
