Arizona attorneys, first responders, military families, and community supporters are invited to unite at the 8th Annual PTSD Awareness 5K Run/Walk on June 6, 2026, in Peoria, Arizona, raising awareness and support for those impacted by PTSD.
PHOENIX - EntSun -- The 8th Annual PTSD Awareness 5K Run/Walk will bring together Arizona's legal community, first responders, military families, healthcare professionals, and local supporters on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Copper Hills Church in Peoria, Arizona. Organized to raise awareness for post-traumatic stress injuries impacting first responders and military personnel, the event encourages the community to take action through participation, advocacy, and support. The annual event has become a powerful symbol of perseverance, healing, and community connection for individuals and families navigating the effects of PTSD. Attorneys handling workers' compensation, personal injury, employment law, disability, and first responder representation are especially encouraged to participate and demonstrate visible support for the mental health challenges faced by their clients and communities. Organizers hope the event will further strengthen the connection between advocacy professionals and those living with the invisible wounds of trauma.
This year marks the first time The First Responder PTS Foundation https://firstresponderpts.org will sponsor a specialized running chair, allowing individuals with physical limitations or disabilities to actively participate in the race experience. The addition reflects the event's growing commitment to inclusion and ensuring that every participant has the opportunity to cross the finish line together.

Participants will receive a commemorative race shirt, finisher challenge coin, post-race coffee sponsored by Well Coffee Co., and a goody bag sponsored by the Law Offices of Robert E. Wisniewski. Awards will be presented to top finishers across multiple age categories. Organizers encourage teams from law firms, police and fire departments, veterans groups, unions, healthcare organizations, and local businesses to register together in support of PTSD awareness month.
The PTSD Awareness 5K Run/Walk serves not only as a fitness event, but also as a public reminder that many first responders and military veterans continue to silently battle the emotional effects of trauma long after the crisis has ended.
