Andrea Ramírez Joins New Texas Symphony Orchestra as Assistant Conductor

UTA Symphony Orchestra alumna, now Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music, brings passion and expertise to the NTSO
DALLAS - EntSun -- The New Texas Symphony Orchestra (NTSO) is delighted to announce that UTA alumna and Adjunct Faculty member in Conducting, Andrea Ramírez, has been appointed Assistant Conductor for the 2025–2026 season.
A Los Angeles native, Ramírez brings extensive experience and a passion for orchestral music and leadership to the NTSO family. As a dynamic conductor and accomplished violinist, Ramírez has cultivated a career that bridges performance, education, and arts leadership. Her artistic journey has been marked by unforgettable highlights, including sharing the stage with Grammy Award-winning artist Aida Cuevas, conducting her undergraduate program's Gamer Symphony, running supertitles for the world's first mariachi opera, Cruzar la cara de la luna, and leading the UT Arlington Symphony Orchestra in a moving performance of Peer Gynt Suite No. 1.

"I am absolutely delighted to welcome Andrea Ramírez to the New Texas Symphony Orchestra," said Dr. Michelle Perrin Blair, Artistic Director of the NTSO. "Her passion for music, combined with her dynamic leadership and innovative approach to the art form, makes her an exceptional addition to our team. Andrea's energy and talent will elevate our performances and help us continue to inspire and connect with our growing community of music lovers."
Ramírez holds a graduate degree in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Texas at Arlington and a bachelor's degree in Music Education from California State University, Northridge. In addition to her new role with the NTSO, she serves as an adjunct faculty member in conducting at the University of Texas at Arlington. Ramírez is simultaneously pursuing a performance certificate in conducting and serving as assistant conductor of the UT Arlington Symphony Orchestra.

The New Texas Symphony Orchestra's 2025-2026 season is packed with exciting performances. Highlights include the upcoming Winter Chamber Concert at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 10, 2026, a perfect way to welcome the new year with a vibrant program of chamber favorites. ALL NTSO concerts are free and open to the public.
