African Civil Rights Advocate Exposes Alleged Financial Exploitation by John and Alysha Corder
EntSun News/11078469
METUCHEN, N.J. - EntSun -- African civil rights advocate, Shakira Lasisi, has
come forward detailing a disturbing pattern of alleged financial manipulation, conflicting
allegations, and false reports made by Metuchen couple John and Alysha Corder. The
unfolding situation raises broader concerns regarding police influence, discovery issues,
and the vulnerability of African women navigating the U.S. legal system.
According to Lasisi, John and Alysha Corder approached her asking for financial
assistance, allegedly claiming they were in the middle of a divorce and needed funds to
support their children. Lasisi reports providing significant monetary support after being told
the couple was struggling financially and that Alysha was not providing adequate support
for the children.
However, records reveal that no divorce was ever filed — neither in 2022 nor 2025, despite
repeated statements from both John and Alysha that they were separating. Instead, Lasisi alleges she was misled into providing money under false pretenses while the couple
remained married and living separate lives only in appearance.
Complicating matters further, John admitted to having a mistress, and two of his children

were fathered outside of his marriage. Lasisi states that both John and Alysha sought
financial help related to both Alysha's children and the children from John's extramarital
relationship, painting a chaotic picture of intertwined finances and personal turmoil.
The situation escalated when John and Alysha filed a series of inconsistent allegations
against Lasisi, including claims she threatened their children and vandalized property —
accusations Lasisi strongly denies. Body camera footage and statements obtained from
police interviews reveal major contradictions, including:
John alternately describing Lasisi as an ex-partner, ex-girlfriend, casual sexual contact, and "no relationship at all."
Alysha admitting she has never met Lasisi, does not know what she looks like, and learned
her identity only from online searches.
Police coaching John on restraining-order requirements, including questions about sex, in
apparent attempts to categorize the situation as domestic violence.
Missing discovery materials, including alleged images, transcripts, and linked
communications, raising questions of procedural fairness.
Lasisi asserts these conflicting statements were used to build a false narrative against her

while omitting exculpatory evidence. She further alleges the couple used their claims
strategically:
"I was targeted because I am an African woman in the United States, and because I was
vulnerable and trying to help their family. They weaponized the legal system when I stopped
giving money."
Lasisi maintains her innocence and has been actively pursuing justice both in the
Appellate Division and through formal complaints. She emphasizes this experience
represents something larger:
"This is not just about me — it's about how easily African women in the United
States can be exploited, accused, and silenced. My civil rights advocacy continues for anyone who has been manipulated or falsely targeted the way I was."
As legal proceedings continue, Lasisi calls for transparency, proper review of all bodycamera footage, complete discovery production, and accountability for individuals who
provide misleading or false statements to law enforcement.
Shakira Lasisi states that her commitment to civil rights — especially for African women
living in the United States — remains unwavering despite the emotional and legal hardship caused by the situation.
