PALM COAST, Fla. - EntSun -- Flagler OARS (Open Arms Recovery Services) hosted a free, comprehensive two-day training on Supervision of Peer-Based Recovery Support Services, helping strengthen the local recovery workforce while removing a major cost barrier for participants.
The training, held Feb. 11–12 at SMA Healthcare in Bunnell, graduated 19 participants and provided 11 continuing education units (CEUs). Comparable trainings can cost about $1,500 per person, making the opportunity a significant value for current and aspiring peer supervisors.
The program covered integrating peer support in multidisciplinary teams, supporting peer roles in person-centered planning, cross-cultural supervision, ethics and boundaries, and self-care and wellness. The training was led by Ed Johnson, a licensed professional counselor and addiction counselor supervisor.
