New Female Director-Producer Gets Three Noms for her Action Film
EntSun News/10668147
Koura Linda becomes a film Director and is lauded for her work.
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Aug. 31, 2016 - EntSun -- There's a new female director-producer who has created an action film that has now been nominated for three awards at the Action On Film International Film Festival taking place in Monrovia, California in September. The film is produced by Space Dream Productions, her production company.
The film, Names on The Wall, is a short film about two soldiers fighting on opposite sides of the Vietnam War who find themselves faced with a choice, somewhere between where humanity ends and war begins. It considers how we react to different circumstances depending on an array of different elements - for this story, set in front of the backdrop of one of the most controversial wars in American history. It was a war of governments, but this is a story of soldiers.
"I am a five-year community member of hitRECord (which premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival New Frontier) and nearly a third of the crew on this production are also hitRECorders. Following how we collaborate as artists, approximately 90% of the planning, coordination and execution of production was done online resulting in a global artistic collaboration between over 35 artists in 5 countries." Koura Linda explained.

Koura Linda worked with the writer to develop the concept for the film and eventually found herself directing the short film. "I truly am grateful for this opportunity as a woman to be supported with positivity and access to knowledge where I am able to step forward and try my hand at telling a story I strongly believe needs to be told: a story of humanity, how we see each other, and who we are."
The film also showcases original music, tense action, witty dialogue and beautiful visual story telling with nuanced details between the men who, by the end of the film, are more than names on the wall. The awards which the film was Action on Film International Film Festival are nominated for are "Best Drama: Short," "Best Period Piece" and "The Alan Bailey Award for Excellence in Film Making in a Major Genre."
Koura Linda began writing out character development and script ideas and shot lists in her composition notebooks as a kid, before she even knew what a shot list actually was. About a decade later, she stumbled in with an Art Dept crew one summer when a friend asked her to help on set construction for a day. Falling in love with production design she then spent the next ten years working on set and event design, eventually finding herself in film production.
