Idaho: Gov. Little appoints Regina McCrea to First Judicial District

Boise, ID ~ Boise, ID - In a press release today, Governor Brad Little announced the appointment of Regina McCrea as District Judge to the First Judicial District. McCrea, a seasoned trial attorney with over 20 years of experience in private practice, will fill a new position created by the Idaho Legislature.
McCrea's legal career has focused on personal injury, wrongful death, medical and legal malpractice, and general civil disputes. She is the owner of McCrea Law and has been practicing there since 2007. McCrea holds an undergraduate degree from Harding University and a juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Expressing her gratitude for the appointment, McCrea stated, "It is a great privilege to accept this role, and I am sincerely thankful for the trust Governor Little has placed in me through this appointment. I am committed to carrying out the duties of this office with fairness, transparency, and fidelity to the rule of law." She also thanked her family, colleagues, friends for their support and acknowledged the Idaho Judicial Council for their thorough selection process.

The position that McCrea will fill is located in Kootenai County within the First Judicial District. This district encompasses Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai, and Shoshone Counties. The creation of this new position was deemed necessary by the Idaho Legislature.
According to Idaho Code 1-2101 et seq., judicial vacancies in the Idaho Supreme Court, Idaho Court of Appeals, and District Courts are filled through a specific process. The Idaho Judicial Council submits a list of at least three qualified candidates to Governor Little for appointment in accordance with state law.
With her extensive experience and dedication to upholding justice under the rule of law, Regina McCrea is well-equipped to serve as District Judge for the First Judicial District. Her appointment by Governor Little is sure to bring positive impact to both Kootenai County and the state of Idaho.
