Raquel Riley Thomas Appointed to Advisory Board of Operation Renewed Hope Foundation

Raquel Riley Thomas, a former Army Ordnance Captain, is a now a member of the Advisory Board of Operation Renewed Hope Foundation (ORHF). The non-profit organization fights Veteran homelessness by providing a range of services assisting Veterans.

WASHINGTON - Dec. 4, 2018 - EntSun -- Raquel is a decorated military veteran, having served nine years in the U.S. Army (5-years Enlisted photojournalist; 4-years Ordnance Officer). She is a graduate of Hampton University with a degree in Psychology. She now owns An Officer and Gentlewoman, LLC, a production company which focuses on pageant productions, television commercials and television casting. Her company has 8 subsidiaries which include: Miss DC for America, Mrs. DC America, Miss DE for America, Mrs. DE America, Miss PA for America, Mrs. PA America, Little Miss North America and AOAGWLLC Casting. Raquel was selected as the "Director of the Year" 2017 by Mrs. America, Inc. and was recently appointed to their Ethics, Standards and Procedures Board.

Raquel's accomplishments have been noted in both her military and civilian career. She was awarded the Army Commendation Medal (2x) and the Army Achievement Medal (3x). During that time, Ebony magazine named her a "Leader of the Future." Marquis "Who's Who of America" awarded Raquel six consecutive years and they also awarded her with the "Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2017. Washington Business Journal has also named Raquel one of Washington's "People on the Move."

For her advocacy of Veterans, Raquel has received recognition awards from the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) was selected as the "Veteran of the Year" 2011, by Women Veteran's Rock. Through her efforts within her production company, she has raised money for VETSports, Luke's Wings and Women Veteran's Rock. She is now inducted into the Library of Congress under the "Veterans History Project" where her military history is now stored in video and pictures.
