PAWTUCKET, R.I. - May 16, 2018 - EntSun -- Born to a mother who didn't want her, and ritually abused by an alcoholic father, Yolanda was betrayed from birth by all the adults in her life who mattered. Yet this was only the beginning of a brutal upbringing in which she would be forced to endure years of pain, neglect and unthinkable horrors.

In her new memoir No Excuses, author Yolanda Alvarez shares the deeply personal account of this vicious childhood. But instead of portraying herself as a victim, she explains how the terrible abuses made her stronger, leading her not only on a path of survival, but allowing her to overcome these tribulations, grow, thrive and find lifelong success.

"Somewhere deep inside my very existence, a little light still flickered. I had to search hard to find that small light. The flicker gave me the strength to evolve and fight."
