EntSun News/11078562
ANNAPOLIS, MD (December 1, 2025) ~ Maryland Public Television's popular original series, Maryland Farm & Harvest, is back for its 13th season and will be featuring farms and locations in Cecil, Frederick, Washington, and Queen Anne's counties in its upcoming episode premiering on Tuesday, December 2. Viewers can get a sneak peek of the episode on the series' webpage at mpt.org/farm.
The show airs every Tuesday at 7 p.m. on MPT and can also be streamed online at mpt.org/livestream. For those who miss the live broadcast, episodes are available to watch on demand using the free PBS app or MPT's online video player.
Maryland Farm & Harvest takes viewers on a journey across the state, showcasing the farms, people, and technology that make up Maryland's number one commercial industry - agriculture. The December 2 episode will kick off with introductions filmed at Star Bright Farm in White Hall (Baltimore County) before diving into three unique stories.
One of the featured segments will highlight University of Maryland Extension Agent Sarah Hirsh's Bonus Cover Crop program. This program provides farmers with free consultations and cost-sharing support to develop tailored approaches using cover crops to address specific issues on their farms. Audiences will meet two farmers - Stephen Kraszewski of Mason's Heritage Farm in Ruthsburg and Bryan Racine of Racine Family Farm in Rising Sun - who have both found success using this program.

Next up is District Farms Hydroponics in Frederick County. Three former attorneys decided to leave behind their legal careers and start a hyper-efficient lettuce farm using advanced technology. Viewers will meet cofounders Ali and Ibrahim Sharifzadeh as they tend to thousands of rows of lettuce inside a five-acre greenhouse that uses minimal land, water, and fertilizer compared to traditional lettuce farms.
The final segment takes viewers to Caprikorn Farms in Rohrersville (Washington County), the longest-running goat dairy in Maryland. Owners Alice Orzechowski and Scott Hoyman turned their desire to return to the land into one of the highest-producing goat milk operations in the United States. Host Al Spoler will get a chance to meet their friendly herd of Saanen goats and even join corporate chef Catherine Forrence in making goat cheese chocolate truffles. The recipe will be available for download on mpt.org/farm.
Since its debut in 2013, Maryland Farm & Harvest has attracted over 19 million viewers on the statewide public TV network. The series has visited more than 500 farms, fisheries, and other agriculture-related locations, covering every county in Maryland, as well as Baltimore City and Washington, D.C.
