The first conference was held on February 13, 2008 and was co-sponsored by the Downriver Community Federal Credit Union and the Downriver and Detroit Business Association.  It was called the Downriver Small Business Conference and Expo and was started by Mark Tremper as a way to provide business-growth oriented workshops and help business owners promote their business to the local community. The Grow Your Business Series continued from that first event and was designed to help people grow their business in the face of a challenging economic environment. This series features a variety of topics, presented by local, national, and international personal and business growth experts each month.
