Clark Nexsen Announces Firmwide Associate Principal Promotions

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - March 1, 2016 - EntSun -- National architecture and engineering firm, Clark Nexsen, is pleased to recognize the leadership roles of thirteen individuals with their promotion to associate principal. They represent Clark Nexsen at a high level through their professional excellence, innovative ideas, and strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

Jennifer Heintz Attride, AIA, LEED AP, is a designer with 17 years of experience in public and private sector projects for higher education, K-12, recreational, and corporate clients. She has developed an expertise in complex multi-phased projects with programs requiring accommodation and sensitive blending of new and historical structures.

Andy Duncan, PE, PMP, CEM, is a senior project manager in the Virginia Beach office with 15 years of experience in building design and project management for DoD and Department of Homeland Security projects. He has extensive experience with NAVFAC contracts, particularly at Quantico, Bethesda and the U.S. Naval Academy.

Chris Duncan, AIA, GGP, LEED AP BD+C, has a broad range of experience that includes managing projects of all sizes, architectural design, and construction contract administration for public and private clients. As a senior project manager, he ensures each project is delivered successfully and that the client experience is positive throughout the entire process.

David Francis, AIA, LEED AP, is a senior architect who is adept at working with multidisciplinary teams for higher education, science and technology, municipal, healthcare, and retail and sports facilities. His current projects include the City of Raleigh Central Communications Center and renovations at Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina.

Joel Helms, AIA, GGP, LEED AP BD+C, has more than two decades of design and construction administration experience with a variety of building types and scales including K-12, higher education, and municipal projects. His leadership in sustainable building design includes the LEED Gold certified Gorges State Park Visitor Center, and the expansion of Carrington Hall School of Nursing at UNC Chapel Hill, the first LEED certified building in the UNC system.

Ian Johnston, PE, has been involved in the civil and transportation engineering industry for 18 years. As head of the Virginia Beach transportation department, he leads the design and delivery of transportation and site development projects. His clients include the Virginia Department of Transportation, the City of Virginia Beach, and other municipalities within the State of Virginia.

Don Kranbuehl, AIA, PE, LEED AP BD+C, has more than 16 years of experience in design, management, and construction spanning the academic, science and technology, and civic sectors. He has led the architectural design for a variety of projects that have been honored with state, regional, and national AIA design awards.

Sara Melanson, AIA, LEED AP, is a senior architect who has been engaged in educational and community projects for more than 14 years. Her focus has evolved from a background in K-12 educational environments into community college and complex higher education projects. Recent and current projects have refined her expertise towards educational facilities for the health sciences and healthcare professionals.

Tom Ostasiewski, PE, PMP, LEED AP, is a senior project manager in the energy consulting sector. Tom's knowledge in building design, construction, and control systems has led to leadership roles as a mechanical engineering department head, process improvement consultant, and project manager. Tom has been instrumental in the growth of the energy consulting sector at Clark Nexsen and has facilitated many of the new client relationships and projects in the sector's growing portfolio of energy saving, cost saving and innovative projects.

Stuart Patterson, PE, has 15 years of civil engineering experience with expertise in wireless facilities engineering. He serves as the site engineer, project manager, and the primary point-of-contact for engineering services to various national wireless carriers. He partners with clients to develop innovative ideas that work to standardize the deployment of network initiatives.

Chris Roberts, PE, leads the Virginia Beach Bridge Inspections department, managing projects for federal, state, and local clients. His clients include Hampton Roads area municipalities, the Virginia Department of Transportation throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the Federal Highway Administration's Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division throughout the continental United States.

Brian Turner, PE, CEM, LEED AP BD+C, is a mechanical engineer with 16 years of experience in the design of high performance buildings which are healthy to live and work in, use less energy, and minimize environmental impacts. He leads the Virginia Beach mechanical department, ensuring quality and optimal system performance and energy efficiency on all projects.

Wade Williams, PE, HFDP, Cx, RCx, LEEP AP BD+C, has experience that encompasses mechanical building systems design, facility condition assessments, commissioning and retro-commissioning for federal, state, healthcare, and higher education projects. He leads the Macon office's mechanical department, working closely with clients and project teams to ensure the highest level of performance and sustainability during all project phases.
