EntSun News/11094263
GREAT BEND, Kan. - EntSun -- After eight months of development, the City of Great Bend, KS, has officially launched its new government website, powered by Revize. The collaborative launch offers a refreshed, optimized online experience for city residents, businesses, and visitors. In addition to the city website, Great Bend also launched two new microsites through Revize: Great Bend Zoo and Explore Great Bend.

Key Features:
  • Custom, Responsive Web Design
  • Alert Center with e-Notify for email and text notifications
  • Citizen Request Center
  • Calendar App
  • Staff Directory
  • Language translation to nearly 100 languages
  • Page Builder functionality
  • .gov domain
According to Addison Crites, Public Relations Director of Great Bend, the new Revize website has been a game changer. The site not only looks more polished and modern, but it is also easier for both residents and staff to navigate and manage. "User-friendliness was a priority and big reason as to why we switched over to the Revize platform, not only for our citizens but also for our staff... Our staff members who use the site daily have really enjoyed the ease of editing, adding, and changing content," Crites remarked. "The website has also received positive response from the public, who enjoy the refreshed look but are still able to access all the information they need."

With a custom website from the Government Website Experts, clients collaborate with an award-winning team of designers on the creation of the agency's brand identity. Addison Crites praised the design process and highlighted the history behind certain digital elements. "The City of Great Bend's name comes from its location on the Arkansas River where the river's course turns east. We knew we wanted to include a river element heavily throughout our site during the design process. The Revize team brought that vision to life beginning with our home page where there's a big blue river resting underneath our title... and on our menus drop down, helping us pay heritage to the town's location and name."

To support accessibility goals, Great Bend opted for Revize's ADA Scan & Fix Service. With it, the site will receive up to 2 comprehensive WCAG compliance scans per year, and remediation of compliance issues is completed by Revize. This helps save time and energy for staff while providing peace of mind about online accessibility in an evolving landscape of ADA requirements.

"I appreciate the responsiveness and promptness of the Revize staff after I submit a ticket in the portal. It's great to have a provider that cares as much about our website as we do," said Crites. The launch is a pride point for both Revize and the City of Great Bend, resulting in a modern digital platform built to better serve the community for years to come.
