Chicagorilla's Showroom Announces One Year Extravaganza Titled: The Art of Fashion

Black Ink Chicago's Personnel, Van Johnson, and Co-Owner, Kevin Womack, Celebrates the One Year of Their Urban Fashion Brand

CHICAGO - July 11, 2018 - EntSun -- Chicagorilla, Chicago's exclusive fashion & culture line representing loyalty, perseverance, and strength, is proud to announce the celebration of its one year anniversary titled: The Art of Fashion on Sunday, July 15th at Lacuna Lofts.

The Art of Fashion is a collaboration of Chicagorilla gear and an art exhibit showcasing Chicago-based artists giving their interpretation and inspiration of what the art of the jungle means to them. The event will entail a pop-up shop, a brief fashion segment showcasing Chicagorilla's new line of fashion, followed by the live jungle-themed art exhibition and music performance from 3:00pm-10:00pm.

"We are so thrilled to be hosting this extravaganza to celebrate our one year anniversary of our showroom," said Van Johnson, co-owner of Chicagorilla. "Since our grand opening last year, we've received some amazing feedback and support from our fellow Chicagoans, and we are so appreciative of them."

"I eat, breath and sleep Chicagorilla," said Kevin Womack, co-owner of the brand. "Looking back on how far we have come with the brand is so motivating because we keep growing and trying new things with different products and looks. I'm excited to see our vision continue to unfold and for the new products we have to offer for this summer.

VH1's Black Ink Chicago reality star, Van Johnson, will personally paint a custom piece of Chicagorilla gear and raffle it off to his attendees. Proceeds of the raffle will be donated to Kenwood-Oakland Community Organization to help 13-year old Azyia Roberts fund their next  #WeWalkForHer event, helping raise awareness for the missing women in Chicago.

"Our mission behind Chicagorilla is to remind our community that we essentially live in a jungle here in Chicago. And like the gorilla, we need to nurture and support our city especially with all of the shootings and the negative attention that we receive in the news. We need to stand together to support one another," says Van Johnson. "I think that's why the walk Ms. Roberts coordinated is not only a representation of what Chicagorilla stands for, but also what we hold close to our hearts because Kevin and I both have daughters. And we will support the next walk and get the word out about it as much as we can!"
